Restoration

Up until some time in the 1980s, La Ferme de l’Eglise was a working farm, at which time the outside barns would have been in agricultural use, storing machinery, tools and livestock. The main house was occupied only on the ground floor with what is now the upstairs being an open plan grain store. The restoration of the entire property was completed in 2006.

Since the restoration, we have focused on maintenance and development: maintenance to keep the properties in full working order and development to provide more comfort and facilities for our gîte guests, for our visiting friends and families and of course, for ourselves! These projects include:

    • to ensure that the buildings remain standing for years to come, the renewal of roofs. More…
    • renovation of barn lean-to so as to provide shade and shelter in the garden of La Petite Maison along with the construction of private terrace from bedroom of La Petite Maison. More…
    • installation of salt water swimming pool for cooling off on hot days. More…
    • installation of swimming pool bar for slaking the thirst of a baking hot day on the pool terrace. More…
